Learn how to illustrate pots, seeds, seedlings and tools to create pleasing and meditative patterns and layouts in your sketchbook with ink and watercolour.
Use the techniques to record the planting and growth of plants in your garden or just for fun!
This project has been design to sit nicely in a sketchbook or garden journal but can so easily be adapted to create stationary cards and mini books. I will share examples of these during the workshop.
Step-by-step Instructions and Demos!
This easy and relaxing class is great for beginners and creative souls who find it tricky to get started as there are minimal materials but a multitude of options and variations making it a really additive process!
No previous drawing experience is needed as we will create everything from simple shapes. There will be loads of fabulous references to use which takes away the problem of having to make the difficult decisions (which sometimes hold us back).
As with all the Wild Ink workshops, there are loads of little tips along the way to help you to find a pathway to creative freedom! Hooray!
Fun and Relaxing!
If you're new to drawing and painting don't worry, this is a great place to start!
I'll take through every stage giving you loads of tips and advice.
If you've got more experience, you'll still learn something new and this style of painting is great for loosening up and having fun.
This fun and friendly workshop is great for all experience levels

This note is a very big thank you for the workshops. I am having such a good time with them. I think the recorded version works best for me. They are so inspirational and I love being able to rewind a little when I can’t quite get something or when I want to pause and study or reflect.
I’ll be doing more of the workshops and have so many ideas for how to use them in my life. They really are helping me to re-find my inner creative.
I love your classes! I watch them live as my lunch break (in the US), and then replay later. I have enjoyed art journaling for some time, but it’s so fun to learn from someone else and hear a different perspective. I’m so glad I found you!
Lucia Leyfield
Lucia is an artist, letterer and teacher who loves creating illustrated journals and artist books. She has become known for a unique and creative approach to her work which has been described as 'quietly joyful...a nostalgic, moving and profound ...a treasure chest of creativity and inspiration'
Her journals and sketchbooks, which record life as it happens, conversations, inspirations and experiments, have become works of art in their own right. Many of Lucia's sketchbooks are handmade with a range of papers and combine traditional and experimental hand lettering with watercolour, collage and mixed media sketches.
She is inspired by a diverse range of things: the old, rusty and wonky, worn architectural patinas, ancient diagrams, aged buildings, old books and ephemera, explorers' sketchbooks and vintage field guides.
