Learn how to Illustrate your Travels!

There’s something about a holiday or special weekend away that urges us to record and remember it… but where do you begin?

I love looking back through my travel journals as they help me remember the small things that are so easily forgotten. Each one is like a mini time machine which transports me back to a happy place and ignites all of my senses...I can smell the sea salt and chips on the breeze!

In this course you will learn how to start creating your own unique travel journal. You may also learn a lot about yourself and the things that inspire you whilst developing your own creative skills.

Includes Step-By-Step Instructions, Tips & Tricks

After years of experimenting and struggling with travel journaling, I've devised a really simple 'recipe' system which makes keeping an holiday diary so easy, allowing you to get creative, have fun and lose the fear!

The techniques in this class are also very quick and enjoyable to do so you're more likely to keep your journal going throughout your holiday.

In this workshop, we will explore sketchbook formats, ways to work, inspirations, barriers, as well as loads of tips on layout and content.

We will also get sketching! This course is brilliant if you have never drawn before, maybe a bit scared or don't know where to start. Travel journaling is all about keeping it simple and easy!

Fun, Friendly and Welcoming!

The workshop is divided up into seven parts and with each section there is a video to watch. Throughout the classes, there are lots of mini tasks and creative activities to work on as well as printable references and collage sheets.

You will learn everything you need to know to get started and keep going!

All you need is a few basic tools and techniques...(plus the brilliant cheats that I'm SO excited to share with you!)

The aim of this course is to simplify the complicated decision making process of travel journaling. All the tricky bits have been identified and ironed out, creating a simple and easy to use system that you can refer to time and time again!

All experience levels welcome…especially beginners!

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your journaling class. The reading list, the exercises and your unique approach has changed the way I approach my lettering, my art and my day! I laugh out loud at your anecdotes and you have such a lovely way of presenting your subject. I'm definitely a fan and I'll be stalking you in more online classes in the future.

Just a note to say thank you for the for the class last night. You gave us some really useful starters and I like the 'you cannot go wrong and if you do just paint/paper over it' approach. The classes are helping me to feel interested again in what I am doing and spurring me on to do more, so, a big 'thank you' for that too.

Lucia is an artist, letterer and teacher who loves creating illustrated journals and artist books. She has become known for a unique and creative approach to her work which has been described as 'quietly joyful...a nostalgic, moving and profound ...a treasure chest of creativity and inspiration'

Her journals and sketchbooks, which record life as it happens, conversations, inspirations and experiments, have become works of art in their own right. Many of Lucia's sketchbooks are handmade with a range of papers and combine traditional and experimental hand lettering with watercolour, collage and mixed media sketches.

She is inspired by a diverse range of things: the old, rusty and wonky, worn architectural patinas, ancient diagrams, aged buildings, old books and ephemera, explorers' sketchbooks and vintage field guides.
