These are SO MUCH FUN to make!!! During this workshop you will learn how to bind a tiny book and add then beautiful illustrations and text to it on the theme of seeds and planting.
Perhaps you could use it as a creative record of what you grow in your garden this year?

I'll show you all my illustrative tips and cheats about how to get a really lovely finish to your work and make your colours and designs pop!

The little book itself is full of painted and collaged elements which can be as simple or complex as you choose.
You might like to add lettering which could be printed, hand drawn or collaged. You will learn how to create and combine all these elements into a visually beautiful design.
We will be drawing and painting during this workshop but the shapes and systems are really simple so perfect for beginners and those who want to build up their creative courage!
Those with more experience are very welcome to bring more complexity the design.

Lucia is an artist, letterer and teacher who loves creating illustrated journals and artist books. She has become known for a unique and creative approach to her work which has been described as 'quietly joyful...a nostalgic, moving and profound ...a treasure chest of creativity and inspiration'
Her journals and sketchbooks, which record life as it happens, conversations, inspirations and experiments, have become works of art in their own right. Many of Lucia's sketchbooks are handmade with a range of papers and combine traditional and experimental hand lettering with watercolour, collage and mixed media sketches.
She is inspired by a diverse range of things: the old, rusty and wonky, worn architectural patinas, ancient diagrams, aged buildings, old books and ephemera, explorers' sketchbooks and vintage field guides.
