During this workshop, we will mindfully doodle our way through some fantastic historical references to create a range of unique and personal vintage style label designs.
Your finished masterpieces can be used as gift tags, on the front of homemade greetings cards or as a frontispiece/label for artist books, sketchbooks and journals.

I'll show you how to use my fail safe 'recipe' system so that you don't have to use your brain too much! Put all your energy into the nice creative decisions and really enjoy scribbling along!
If you are like me, you might pretend you are an intrepid Victorian explorer and need to add labels to your illustrated journal OR simply come along for a couple of hours of relaxing creative play...either way you are very welcome!

I have been doing brush lettering for about a year now and apart from trying out a million brush pens and papers , I’ve also struggled to find a script I really liked; I’ve ended up writing in an almost copperplate fashion-so when I saw your lettering in your advert I had a big ‘YES’ moment (if you know what I mean).

Lucia is an artist, letterer and teacher who loves creating illustrated journals and artist books. She has become known for a unique and creative approach to her work which has been described as 'quietly joyful...a nostalgic, moving and profound ...a treasure chest of creativity and inspiration'
Her journals and sketchbooks, which record life as it happens, conversations, inspirations and experiments, have become works of art in their own right. Many of Lucia's sketchbooks are handmade with a range of papers and combine traditional and experimental hand lettering with watercolour, collage and mixed media sketches.
She is inspired by a diverse range of things: the old, rusty and wonky, worn architectural patinas, ancient diagrams, aged buildings, old books and ephemera, explorers' sketchbooks and vintage field guides.
