In this workshop, I’ll show you my personal technique for box journaling — drawing little boxes across a sketchbook page then filling them with tiny drawings. It’s an easy, flexible system that turns ordinary days, trips and memories into a colourful visual diary. Use it as a weekly or monthly log, a travel record, a mindful gratitude practice, or simply a way to draw more.
What you’ll learn:
How to lay out a page with boxes so your composition looks balanced.
Quick approaches to thumbnailing and drawing small scenes.
Simple colour methods (pencils, watercolour wash, markers) that work at small scale.
Prompts, ideas and templates to keep the practice going.
Who this is for: beginners and doodlers, busy people who want a creative habit, travellers, memory-keepers and anyone who’d like a mindful drawing practice.
Materials you'll need:
Something you enjoy drawing with (pen/fineliner/pencil)
Something to colour with (coloured pencils, markers, or watercolour)
A sketchbook (or any paper you like)
(These are intentionally minimal — the course is about using what you already have.)
Lucia! I cannot thank you enough for re-lighting my creative mojo and letting me be wonky...My mum and my daughter are Fine Art Police Squad, and so I never ever picked up a pencil or a brush until your very first art session I took with you a month ago. It has been a complete revelation. You have the most amazing ability to draw (literally) the madness out of people and allow them to embrace it! I feel like I have found my people!
