**Pre-recorded workshop: release date 4th November 2024**
With LIVE Zoom work-a-longs throughout November
Make your own Advent Calendar!
If you're a fan of a traditional advent calendar you'll LOVE this workshop!
This homemade calendar combines the charm of a traditional illustrated advent calendar with the excitement of delving into the tiny pockets for a picture gift. The daily offerings come together to build a beautiful paper village for your mantlepiece!
During this class you will learn how to:
- Build the main calendar structure
- Craft the pretty hand folded pockets (or snipped up decorated envelopes!)
- Create 24 little pictures to fill your calendar pockets
- Add decorated numbers
There's lots of variations to this project making it easily adaptable for any age or experience level. Add your own personalised touches like including your own house in the village!
Draw and paint ... or cut and snip...it's up to you!
Option 1: Collage
Create your little village out of cut collage pieces. Using the references, cut out your house shapes and add architectural details with more collage, pens and pencils. No drawing required...just a good bit of cutting and colouring!
Option 2: Draw
Create your little village with painted and drawn houses using a range of wet and dry media...and collage too if you fancy (I always do!)
Choose whether to keep your village as buildings only, or add in some people and festive landscape elements ...and what about the glitter??
Learn how to create an enchanting tiny world in this merry, mindful workshop full of wintry fun to warm your creative soul!

What people are saying about the Wild Ink workshops...
I always enjoy your workshops tremendously, not just because of your amazing skills, both in the craft and in conveying that craft, but also because of the relaxed ambiance. Even though I don’t know anyone it is like sitting with your best friends and having a cuppa!

I am absolutely blown away by how much I love making these. Thank you so much for your amazing class, the videos were really well planned and explained. I do feel a whole town coming on as I live on a small Scottish island and we have mainly independent shops here. I will be making some shops we don’t have I and feel we should Watch out for the bearded lady’s sweetie shop coming next…

I cannot thank you enough for re-lighting my creative mojo and letting me be wonky...It has been a complete revelation. You have the most amazing ability to draw (literally) the madness out of people and allow them to embrace it! I feel like I have found my people!

I am enjoying this workshop so much! I love your classes and how you add so much inspiration, like all the photos of the interesting houses and buildings and the wonderful examples of illustrative work. And I’ve really enjoyed seeing all the class work in the work alongs. So many beautiful ideas! I’m ready to start making houses to go with Jamie’s trucks and the trees I’ve worked on. Thank you for all you do!
