Cutting and sticking your way to festive calm...
If an art workshop could be described as cosy it's this one!
On opening this card, the recipent will enter into a warm and inviting festive living room or snowy winter village. Not only that, but they will be presented with tiny interactive elements...the sort you might find in the very best children's books!
Includes Step-By-Step Instructions, Tips, Tricks & Cheats!
In this class, you will learn how to illustrate a festive card with suprise papercrafted parts.
At the beginning of the workshop we will learn the basic format and a really simple design which is great if you want to make loads of cards.
Moving on, we will add more crafty & illustrated bits and bobs, little books and folded sections. These cards are great fun as it's like decorating a miniature house or a model village! Use the cards to send to a friend or as a beautiful stand up mantle display.
Fun, Friendly and Relaxing
This is one of my special art 'recipe' projects where I show you the basic 'ingredients' and method but there is loads of room for you to add your own special touch and variations.
It's a great way to get yourself started if you are new to art, a bit nervous or just want a lovely relaxing project to follow along with!
There is a cut and stick option and a trace and transfer sheet so you don't need to have any drawing experience to do this class.
This is a really relaxing and addictive project which is perfect for pottering with during the winter evenings. Get your wooly socks on, light the fire and get some festive nibbles on the go...perfect!
All experience levels are welcome!

Thank you for the workshop, Lucia, and for the lesson. It was an epiphany...the permission to use artistic licence! I do love your sheet of little pictures, just like I do the lettering sheets...thank you for the spur to start again a daily art practice.

Just to let you know, there is a person/student out here, one of many I'm sure, who is having just the best time. Thank you for sharing your art, your talent and your teaching is the best. I'm 74, retired this year and was looking for something new to learn. I have done Calligraphy for a long time and always wanted to add color to some of the pieces I work on. watercolor seemed to be the best fit, however not many in my area want to teach on a beginner level. I am not one to become disheartened easily so I continued my search. Then as luck would have it, I found your site. I went through page after page and in the end, decided it offered exactly what I was looking for and was at my finger tips all the time.
So thank you as you have rekindled a spark that was there, but needed a little push. I'm excited, thrilled, and thoroughly enjoying myself !
Lucia Leyfield
Lucia is an artist, letterer and teacher who loves creating illustrated journals and artist books. She has become known for a unique and creative approach to her work which has been described as 'quietly joyful...a nostalgic, moving and profound ...a treasure chest of creativity and inspiration'
Her journals and sketchbooks, which record life as it happens, conversations, inspirations and experiments, have become works of art in their own right. Many of Lucia's sketchbooks are handmade with a range of papers and combine traditional and experimental hand lettering with watercolour, collage and mixed media sketches.
She is inspired by a diverse range of things: the old, rusty and wonky, worn architectural patinas, ancient diagrams, aged buildings, old books and ephemera, explorers' sketchbooks and vintage field guides.
